Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Victorian women. Breast Screen Australia is the national breast cancer screening program. It invites women aged between 50 and 74 for a free mammogram every two years.
The Omeo District has access to Breast Screen Victoria’s state-of-the-art mobile screening service. The bright pink vans are fitted with the latest digital breast cancer screening technology which enables mammography images to be captured more efficiently and sent to radiologists over a broadband network.
The vans travel around the state on a biennial schedule to ensure rural and regional women have easy access to the service close to home.
Please call 13 20 50 for screening information or to make an appointment.
