We understand that many people are concerned about COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

We can assure you that the safety of our aged care residents, patients, clients, staff and community members is our top priority.

We have therefore made the following changes, consistent with directions from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services and the Australian Government Department of Health:

General access:

If you are coming to Omeo District Health to see a health professional, you will be screened for COVID-19 risk factors before being allowed to enter.  Please follow the directions at the main hospital entrance and medical centre entrance.

All visitors:

Please use the green call button located outside the main hospital entrance for access.  You will be screened for COVID-19 risk factors before being allowed to enter. Please follow directions from ODH staff.  The PIN code used for access during office hours by some community members will no longer work.

Please DO NOT visit if you:

  • feel unwell, or have cold or flu symptoms;
  • have travelled overseas in the last 14 days; or
  • have had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 infected person

Visits to Lewington House:

Visits to Lewington House are now allowed only for a maximum of 2 hours per visit. One resident may receive one visit per day.  No more than two people may visit the same resident during this one visit.

Visits are no longer allowed in communal areas of Lewington House.  Visits may be held in the resident’s room or outdoors on hospital grounds.

Children aged under 16 years may not visit Lewington House.  There are exceptions in place for visits during palliative care.

Home Care Clients:

All Health Care workers will contact clients with screening questions prior to starting their shift each day. If there is any doubt regarding client or worker health the service will be postponed or modified.

If service is not possible with your current home care worker, we may need to substitute another worker. We can also arrange non-contact support where possible.

If you would prefer no visitors, please let us know and we can suspend service also.

The health and safety of our Clients and Worker is our priority and we are in constant communication with our teams.
