If you have a referral for an x-ray, our trained radiographers can perform x-rays of upper and lower extremities, including hands, wrists, feet and ankles. In emergency situations, x-rays of other body parts may be available through the Community Health Centre.

Ways to get an x-ray

Planned and scheduled x-rays

Planned x-rays are available by appointment, subject to the type of imaging required and staff availability.

If the required x-ray cannot be performed at Omeo District Health, we will help you access an alternative imaging service. Some larger or more complex examinations may require referral to Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, the nearest provider of comprehensive radiology services.

Emergency & urgent care x-rays

Following an assessment and referral from a doctor, suitable x-rays may be undertaken through urgent care. Nursing staff can provide x-rays of upper and lower extremities, such as hands, wrists, feet and ankles. Other emergency x-rays may also be available, depending on the clinical situation.
